Nestled between Pukemarie and the moana, Maketu School is more than a place of learning, it is a place of belonging, identity and pride.

Maketu is a place of rich history, strong whānau and cultural roots. Our kura reflect the identity of our community and connections to Te Arawa. We honour the stories of our ancestors, our land, our waterways and our traditions. These shape who we are and guide our future. At Maketu School, we walk alongside whānau to nuture confident, capable and caring learners who stand proud in their identity and culture.
