The Maketu School Board is responsible for the governance of our kura, ensuring every decision is made in the best interests of our tamariki. Trustees are elected by our school community every three years, with the most recent election held in 2025.
Working alongside the Tumuaki, the Board sets the strategic direction of the school, oversees student achievement and wellbeing, ensures responsible stewardship of the school's finances and property, and meets all legal and regulatory obligations. Through effective governance, the Board supports our vision of Kia Tū Rangatira Ai – To make Maketu School a learning place of renown.
